Have you ever traveled solo? If not, why?
For some it’s about safety, boredom, uncertainty or maybe all of the above? I have traveled solo for most of my life and never thought twice about it. Maybe I would hesitate if I’d be traveling to remote places where there is actual danger, but that hasn’t been something I’ve wanted to do anyways.
PROS:
- You have complete freedom to do what you want.
- You can absorb more of the surroundings and feel like a local (if that is what you want)
- You meet more people.
- It builds confidence and changes you as a person, you know you’ll always have your own back.
CONS:
- You don’t have anyone to share the memories with (apart from sharing your pics and videos)
- It is more expensive both at hotels and airbnb’s, since you pay the whole bill
- You might spend more money on taxis etc if you go out late at night.
- Some hotels still give the smallest, most unattractive rooms to solo travelers. Always see the room first before you accept it!
