Is there such a thing as a cheap (or cheaper) hotel in Beverly Hills, CA? Well, I actually found one, that is cheap by Beverly Hills standards. First off, Los Angeles is expensive and Beverly Hills even more so, but it is a great area to stay in, with it’s own special vibe.
Maison 140 is an old building with a colorful past and it has a very special vibe. The location is great, around the corner from the intersection Santa Monica/Wilshire and a short walk to Rodeo Drive etc.
Like I said, it’s an old building and some things are not great, one being the AC is noisy and very dusty. Since I always turn off the AC anyway, this didn’t bother me. The carpets are stained and the room had a musty smell. These are the downsides. On the pro side is that the linen was clean, the location and the price. Around $200 incl tax, this is a steal for Beverly Hills.
The decor is old and in Parisian style, but I did love that part, it just gives it a unique look. For one night, this was a great find. It was quiet and I slept well plus it was close to where I needed to be.
The hotel has a small bar in the lobby (which I didn’t try) and you are able to store luggage after checkout. There is an old elevator as well, that works fine.
They have a sister hotel Mosaic, around the corner. There you can use their small, cute pool and there is also a restaurant.
Included in your stay is a welcome glass of wine at the sister hotel Mosaic.
I did a full room tour on my youtube channel, so check that out too if you want! https://www.youtube.com/@SweTravelista
