This summer I visited Malmö in the south of Sweden and stayed at Clarion Malmö Live. The hotel is now part of the Strawberry hotel chain so I got a great price even in mid tourist season in July.

The location is fantastic, close to the train station and a few minutes walk into the older parts of Malmö. It’s also close to their beach Ribersborg “Ribban”.

I absolutely loved this hotel from start to finish. Busy reception but great service, and yes I’m old school and will always choose personal service before a machine. I had asked for a room with a sunset view and got just that. A wonderful room on the 19th floor where I could watch the sunset from my chair and see all the way to Denmark across the water.
Lovely plush down bedding, I’m always happy to find that in a hotel. And of course floor to ceiling windows which is something I always choose when I can.

A spacey room, mine had a full bathttub as well. A complimentary bottle of wine was included. You can see my full room tour on my youtubechannel!
Breakfast buffet was great as well, a very good selection also for gluten and lactose free guests. An omelet chef made your eggs just the way you like them, I really love these small touches in a hotel. It was very busy at breakfast, but it was in July.
There is also a very busy Italian restaurant on the top floor, I did not eat there, only checked out the view. It’s on floor 25, so I had pretty much the same view in my room.

I’d highly recommend this hotel if you’re in the area and I will certainly come back. The hotel is 4 stars and I payed around 1.000 SEK/night but it is usually from 1.600 SEK and up, depending on nearby events.
