I recently stayed in London at the Dorsett Shepherds Bush hotel and had a great stay. The hotel is part of the Dorsett chain http://dorsetthotels.com and is a 4 star hotel.
From entering the lobby I immediately got a great feeling, a serene lobby with a pleasant scent and a nice checkin experience. The hotel building used to be a cinema from the early 1920’s which has been redesigned as a hotel. The atrium, which is also a bar, makes it feel airy and gives a boutique feeling to the whole place.
Some of the rooms have windows to the atrium but I prefer daylight so I got a room on the first floor with views to the street and Shepherds Bush green.
The room had all the amenities you need, including a fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. A bathroom with both shower and tub, including mini packets of toothpaste/brush, razor etc. Shower and bath products by Elemis.
The location is excellent, several tube stations very close by and also the overground station and buses. The area felt safe, even walking from the tube at night and it was not very noisy from the cars outside. Last but not least, you are less than a 5 min walk from the huge Westfield London mall, with all the major brands and countless eateries incl vegan options.
Travel to and from Heathrow is very easy if you choose the tube option, Shepherds Bush Market is the closest tube station, beware that there is no elevator there, if you have lots of luggage. To get to “tourist” London simply take the Central line for approx 15 min and you will be right on Oxford street.
Summary: I loved this hotel and will definitely return in the future. I loved the boutique feel, the cleanliness, the great service and the cute small touches like cookies and free water bottles.
I made a full room tour on my youtube channel which you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFVwloKFwVY&ab_channel=SweTravelista
