Ryanair, the airline we all love to hate, yet it can still be a great bargain! After not having used them for a number of years, lately I’ve been onboard a few times. Simply because the times and the prices fit.
Airtravel has gone up a LOT lately all over but Ryanair can still be a good deal. If you’re ok with taking a (often) crazy early flight and fly with a cabinbag, it can work for you.

The booking process: It’s straight forward like any other airline, but they will try to sell you all kinds of extras, make sure you don’t click here and there and you won’t be overcharged. It’s as simple as that. Click no and continue to payment.
Boarding passes are all digital now. This is something I don’t like one bit and the worst part is you HAVE to download their app. Showing it from an email or screenprint is one thing, but forcing people to download an app? Just no. I deleted mine as soon as I got off the plane.
Bags: Yes, they will be strict. However, my best tip is to buy priority it includes a seat and your cabin rollerbag is guaranteed onboard (as long it’s the right size). You also get to have your free underseat bag. For my trips this has been around 25 Euro and it’s money well spent. Who wants to gate check their bag with personal stuff? Not me! Plus you get on the plane first.

Onboard: The seats are not comfortable and don’t recline, so for me max a 4 hour flight, but that covers most of Europe. Legroom is normal as you can see, I’m 172 cm for reference. The seat area can be dirty (see pic) or clean depending on your luck. I always use a disinfectant wipe anyway.
The most annoying part onboard is that they are trying to sell stuff, food, taxfree, scratch cards etc during most of the flight. They also don’t darken the cabin at night like most airlines, only for an hour or so. I don’t buy anything onboard, you can bring food and drinks (not alcohol of course) so I always bring my own.
Summary: They got me there in time and safely and for a short flight that’s all that matters. For a longer flight there are different factors to consider. When you pay around 60 Euro incl priority from Spain to Sweden you can’t really complain, right?
